What Can Dry Ice Cleaning Do?

So what can you actually blast clean with dry ice? In this video we have a range of different works we’ve carried out over the years to showcase just how versatile dry ice blasting is.

So, How Does It Work?

Dry ice blasting is a form of abrasive blasting but with a slight twist! Most abrasive blasting process’s involve a hard media, such as grit or glass bead, whereas the media we use is a frozen gas. This means it has no water, no chemical, no structure. We blast with Co2. That, basically, is the air we breathe out of our lungs.

The Co2 is liquidised and then the liquid is turned into solid form in a ram chamber, before being pressed into pellets.

Can Ice Blasting Clean Everything?

In a word ‘no’! There are certain materials that the process simply doesn’t like. It isn’t too keen on minerals or dense caulking. It certainly doesn’t like powder coated surfaces and it struggles with certain paint types. But on the whole, there are an unbelievable amount of contaminants that it will remove. Too many to list here!
