Optimum Dry Ice Blasting have over 20 years’ experience in oak beam restoration. From our early days of using high pressure steam stripping to calcium silicate blasting and now to what we believe is possibly the best method, dry ice blasting.
Dry ice blasting is by far and away the quickest and cleanest process in surface removal currently available in today’s market. As we use only frozen gas to remove paint, stain and varnish, we create no secondary waste.
By using 'snow' splitter discs in the dry ice gun nozzle and a low air flow of 35 psi, Optimum are able to delicately tease off the paint, varnish and dirt usually found on old oak beams. The gentle nature of the process means that there is no damage to the surface of the beams, unlike the more aggressive, grinding nature of other blasting processes.
We have carried out numerous projects over the years, ranging from single bedrooms right up to Tudor manor houses.

The demand for the service is so great that we have purchased new machinery and mobilised a dedicated crew, solely for oak beam restoration, anywhere in the UK.
