Dry Ice Blasting and the Summer Shutdown

Summer is a busy period for Optimum Dry Ice Blasting. Factory shutdown is a period for critical maintenance to be carried out on process machinery. Part of this critical maintenance work will involve dry ice blasting to remove years of hydraulic oil build up, swarf deposits, chemical oxidization, bacterial build up -  the list goes on and on.

Over the years Optimum Dry Ice Blasting have played a critical part in factory shutdowns over many industry sectors. From our annual, contracted car manufacturing plants, through to Oil Refineries and even luxury Yacht production. The diversity we offer is staggering and I would say that Optimum Dry Ice Blasting have just about covered every single industry in the UK, all of which you can see here.

This summer shutdown has seen us supply dry ice blasting services to the Automotive Industry (30%) the Food Industry (20%), the Chemical Manufacturing Industry (20%), the Steel Industry (10%), the Oil and Gas Industry (10%) and finally the Paper Production Industry (10%)

We have opened new business with some large companies – Smurfit Kappa, Unilever, Servosteel and Robinson Brothers. We have also completed works for our usual customers – JLR, Rolls Royce, Toyota, GE, British Gypsum and Cereform.

This week will see the completion of the last of these works. We have worked with some tremendous people, overcome some tricky situations and made lots of massive decisions. All crews have worked safely with zero reported accidents and the ‘can do’ attitude of all my staff has been mentioned more than once. All works completed on time and on budget. We have used over 30 tons of dry ice blast pellets over this period!

So, another great summer shutdown for Optimum Dry Ice Blasting. New business opened, all works successfully completed, all customers happy and we feel we have played our part in keeping the wheels of industry turning!

And breathe…..
